Zuhair Murad – Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection
Katy Perry wore a Zuhair Murad dress during the photo shoot for her new album, Teenage Dream. The musician selected an emerald green tulle and beaded mini dress with cut-outs. Her dress came from Murad’s Fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection. It has a sexy bondage vibe, softened by the delicate silk chiffon fabric surrounding the bodice and arms. The emerald color goes perfectly with her long dark hair, and provides a beautiful contrast. Though this dress might be short on fabric, it’s big on personality, if Perry’s poses are any indication. Pairing the celebrity with the right dress is always key, and this dress is very Katy Perry.
Zoe Saldana is sexy, yet slightly demure in her new Calvin Klein ad campaign. The actress strikes a relaxed pose in her underwear ad for the Envy line. Trust that the fashion house would design underwear that’s sleek instead of fussy; that’s keeping in line with their ready-to-wear aesthetic. Saldana was the right choice for this line, the name says it all. You can bet women all over the world would love to look like that in their underclothing. Though it might be cliche, it appears nothing can come between her and her Calvins.
Gwyneth Paltrow co-hosted the Baby Buggy benefit last night with Jessica Seinfeld. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld was on hand to support his wife’s charity at the Balenciaga store in East Hampton. The evening of shopping will benefit Baby Buggy which provides clothing, supplies and products to infants and young children of families in need. It’s always great to see celebrities giving back and enlisting their peers to do the same. The fact that they give back stylishly is merely a bonus.

Designer Esteban Cortazar was back in full effect for the Colombiamoda fair in Colombia. He is the former designer at Emanuel Ungaro, Cortazar left after Lindsay Lohan was hired as a consultant. The Fall 2010 collection is definitely his major comeback onto the fashion scene. It was youthful and unquestionably hot. His collection had great shapes and layering, combined with gorgeous styling. Leather and minidresses were featured prominently on this runway in many form fitting ways. It will be enough to leave you yearning for fall because you would still feel the heat from all the leather, leopard print and curve hugging fit.

Angelina Jolie was super sexy at the Salt Tokyo premiere. She arrived in a black Versace dress with a thigh-high slit. Did I mention the low-cut back and the additional slit on the right arm? There was no mistaking the star on this red carpet. Her chiffon dress floated ethereally as the actress glided along the carpet. The high-neck of the gown was the most modest, and possibly my favorite; it was a bit of a contrast with the various slits and low-cut dips. Jolie pulled it off beautifully, she managed to look incredibly graceful in this ultra sexy dress. The only question left to ask is, “what will she wear to the next premiere?” We will be watching.

The hotly anticipated third season of The Rachel Zoe Project premieres next Tuesday, August 3rd. We can’t wait to get our celebrity styling fix. The public wants to know what goes on behind the scenes in the fashion industry, and they get to see what goes into putting their favorite celebrities on the red carpet.
It feels like it’s been a while since the Season 2 finale, and Zoe has informed InStyle of some of the changes we’ll see this season. “It’s vastly different. You’ll see a new dynamic develop between the team.” Of course this is partly due to the absence of Taylor Jacobson, her former assistant. So in addition to gorgeous dresses, celebrities and photo shoots, we might be privy to a bit of drama. Though the celebrity stylist/designer does speak of a more peaceful work environment. Drama or no drama, I know that I’ve missed The Rachel Zoe Project, and I can’t wait for Season 3 to begin.

January Jones and Elisabeth Moss were front and center at the premiere of Mad Men in New York City last night. Jones wore a super sexy white Versace dress with beading. Moss was also sparkling in a nude color dress accented with glistening beading. You would never see this much skin on either of their characters, Betty Draper or Peggy Olsen, and I’m loving it. They made the event glamorous and stylish for their dedicated fans. The premiere was watched on a wide screen in Times Square among 10,000 of their closest fans. At the end of the day, maybe it’s about public relations instead of advertising.

Drew Barrymore is featured in the August denim issue of Nylon magazine. The actress talks about a period in Hollywood when no one would hire her, and how it taught her humility. She also tells her interviewer about her new movie, Going the Distance, where there’s apparently simulated phone sex, but I digress. Barrymore is a ray of sunshine in her pictorial, this is the girl we’ve grown to love. Though she has experienced her share of hardships, we all love a great comeback. You know that you are officially back when you are the recipient of a Cover Girl beauty contract.
John Galliano has named, Gossip Girl’s, Taylor Momsen as the face of his perfume. Just last week we learned she was the face of Madonna’s new clothing line, and now she’s fronting a high-end brand. This has to be the best summer ever for the 16 year old. Galliano must have been drawn to her edgy punk rock style which is characteristic of her lead status in a rock band. Momsen recently revealed that she fired her stylist because she wanted to reflect her own sense of style. I would not advocate such a move under normal circumstances, but it is apparently working out extremely well for the young actress. Galliano’s new scent debuts in the fall, and so will the ad campaign featuring the Gossip Girl star.

Women’s Health magazine compiled a list of the best beach bodies for the summer of 2010. Model Brooklyn Decker came in at the No. 1 spot. Decker is often featured in and on the covers of Sport Illustrated. Actress Jessica Alba was the runner-up at No. 2, and she was followed by Twilight’s Ashley Greene at No. 3. The magazine was so impressed with Greene’s physique, they made her the cover of the August issue. These ladies are only the top three of a list of ten, and there are no cheeseburger eaters in sight. Each boasts an impressive figure that’s perfect for the beach, and the red carpet. Check out the list below, and see if you agree with Women’s Health’s selection.
