Cate Blanchett covers the May 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar  Australia in a Romance Was Born design.  It’s an ornate black dress with appliques, embroidery and beadwork throughout.  This look works because of the depth of her acting talent, and her direct gaze into the camera.  It did not overpower her.  The black-and-white image also plays to Cate’s strengths because of her compelling presence.  The gold font gave the cover a classic and timeless feel.
