Amanda Seyfried wore Alberta Ferretti to the Cle de Peau Beaute Spring 2012 collection launch in New York City. The actress attended the beauty brand’s event in a beaded art deco dress. It was ivory with beautiful shapes and designs. She went retro with this 1920′s inspired frock, hair and accessories. Metallic Jimmy Choo high heel sandals accompanied her look for the evening. Her makeup was in a neutral palette with a rosy pink lip color as accent.

Alberta Ferretti brought us almost all the colors of the rainbow in her Sping 2012 collection.  Vivid blues, greens and reds were a vision to behold on this runway.  There were pastel in sight, it was all about the richness and decadence each look.  A few Fall hues made their way down the catwalk in rust, brown and marigold.  The lookswere light and easy, they will translate beautifully in day-to-day living.  I loved that texture played a central role in these pieces, it was evident in the prints, textile

Nina Dobrev was perfection in Donna Karan last night at the 2011 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.  This is what I call the ‘perfect fit.’

Emily Blunt was gorgeous in this navy Elie Saab gown.  The embellishment and plunging neckline were stunning.

Rashida Jones was a beauty in Alberta Ferretti.  She had me at first sight with that beautiful lilac pastel.  I loved the intricacy of the bodice and the romantic fall of the hem.

Minka Kelly was both sexy and reserved in Christian Dior, this is one of my favorite combinations.  The lace dress was feminine and modest with only hints of skin revealed.

Kerry Washington was a standout in this crimson Zuhair Murad dress.  The vibrant color and shimmering sequins caught my eye, but it was the sweetheart neckline and great fit that won me over.

Camilla Belle looked lovely in a two tiered Alberta Ferretti dress at the Shine On Awards.  Her coral halter look had a bow and pretty draping in the bodice and pewter sparkles from the waist down to the hemline.  The Cartier diamond earrings, bracelet and ring complemented the dazzling shine from her outfit.  Camilla accessorized with a pair of grey Louboutin heels and a black evening bag.  Her makeup was dramatic, especially the full dark brows.  I loved the contrast of her dark hair against her peachy-pink blush which matched the color of her dress.

Alberta Ferretti gave us tailored outerwear in lively colors for Fall 2011.  Some were even designed to sparkle with sequins.  Teal, mauve, orange and turquoise lined this runway in dresses, coats and boots.  The thigh-high boots were the highlight of the show in a lush fabric that made them luxurious and very necessary for the season.  Plush coats in bold colors for the winter are essential to combat the dreary weather.  Sheer gowns also floated down the catwalk with beautiful beaded embroidery, some of them will likely make a red carpet appearance before fall.

Christina Ricci wore Alberta Ferretti to the Elton John AIDS Foundation event in New York City last night.  The actress was gorgeous in a light grey above the knee cocktail dress from the Spring 2011 collection.  It had the most beautiful draping.  She paired the strapless beauty with a black clutch and a pair of platform pumps.  Ricci made the right choice for her petite figure and for the black-tie charity event.  I never tire of seeing a stunning dress on the right actress and on the red carpet.

The Alberta Ferretti runway show was heavenly.  The fabrics were sheer and the dresses were ultra feminine.  It was a beautiful collection done in the prettiest neutrals.  There were sufficient prints and patterns to keep the collection interesting.  All in all it was  very cohesive, and each piece related to the other perfectly.  The Alberta Ferretti woman will be very lady-like and refined come spring time.  Some of the pieces along with hair and make-up reminded me of Grace Kelly, especially this look.  The collection was one of the more grown up collection I’ve seen this season, and it should be applauded.  Prior to the start of the fashion weeks, I thought I wanted to see tons of color, but a well thought out and executed collection has put that to rest.  Click here to view the entire collection.

We have noticed that launching a fragrance has been in the ‘news’ lately.  Is it just me, or is everyone launching or in the process of launching a fragrance.  Tom Ford recently launched Bois Marocain.  Now Calvin Klein, Pucci, and Cartier at Sephora are offering limited edition perfumes, and Alberta Ferretti is launching her debut fragrance as well.  Fashion Rollcall has added designer fragrances to its Rollcall list this week.  The fragrance industry had stalled a bit in 2002, sales were slow.  With the increase of new fragrances, it’s likely  there has been an upswing in the sale of fragrances.  It makes sense that sales would increase during times of economic turbulence.  Everyone wants to wear that sensual scent, the one that captivates the senses and brings out a more sultry side.  I’ll have a few bottles of that, thank you.  It is also an affordable luxury, and even more, it makes us feel better.
