Taylor Swift was glamorous at the 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards in Elie Saab. The singer wore a golden yellow gown from the Spring 2010 Couture collection. It was a floor-length beauty that was rich in embroidery and texture, it had a ton of visual appeal. Her dress had delicate capped sleeves and a plunging neckline. Taylor accessorized her look with a pair of dangling earrings and a cocktail ring. Her hair was styled in soft curls and her makeup was neutral and finished-off with a coral pout.

Evan Rachel Wood rocked an Elie Saab dress at the Mildred Pierce premiere in New York City.  It was in a rich eggplant color, complete with a thigh-high split.  The long sleeves and high neckline kept it modest.  She accessorized with a broach at the hipline and a pair of strappy peeped-toe heels in a deep purple.  Evan Rachel wore her hair in a loose cascade of blond curls and selected a bold lip color in a vibrant red.

Elie Saab delivered red carpet elegance onto the runway for Fall 2011.  The dresses were adorned in beautiful beadwork giving them a lustrous shine.  Flowing chiffon added ethereal beauty to this catwalk; the draping was noteworthy on both the jersey and chiffon.  Luxurious fur and leather jackets were paired with both day and evening wear.  A color palette of black, red, eggplant and taupe was lavish enough to match the gorgeous designs.  The print was a canvas of fall colors – mustard, olive green, eggplant and rust.  Elie Saab was timeless and classic for the season.

The 2011 Academy Awards brought out the bold and beautiful last night in Los Angeles.  Metallics and vibrant colors were the story on the red carpet.  The color red was on trend for the evening, with black and gold on its heels.  It was a big night for haute couture, three of our five pick were of that persuasion, Armani Prive, Elie Saab Haute Couture and Gucci Premiere.  They were worn by actresses Reese Witherspoon, Mila Kunis and Hilary Swank respectively.  Our best dressed were stunning from head to toe, from the feathers down to the sleekness.  They all dazzled as brightly as Oscar.

Elie Saab showed a Spring 2011 couture collection that screams for attendance on the red carpet.  We are half-way in awards season and several of these dresses would be right at home at any of those events.  They are creations on a grand scale, containing hidden secrets within their laborious construction.  The end results are exquisite and achingly beautiful.  True red, black, ecru and a wealth of blush colored gowns paraded down the runway in Paris.  Fine craftsmanship is visible in the fit, draping, silhouette and in all the details that make thesegowns so desirable.

Rihanna took over the red carpet in Elie Saab couture at the 2010 American Music Awards yesterday.  The singer was all glamour in a floor length peek-a-boo gown that strategically covered her important areas.  It was sheer with beautiful embroidery throughout and a plunging back.  The long sleeves and the length kept it from being provocative.  Her hair was a mass of curls done in a wine color, it replicated the texture in her dress.  Rihanna has been making major fashion statements on the red carpet over the last year, her style has been evolving right before the cameras. 

Halle Berry wore  Elie Saab to the 2010 AFI Fest last night.  It was a great little black dress that emphasized and flattered her figure.  This simple dress was elevated to another level with careful attention to detail.  The low neckline, in an almost rectangular shape, and angular shoulders made it extraordinary once met with Ms. Berry’s natural curves.  It was from Elie Saab’s Fall 2010 collection.  She accessorized with a pair of black high heels and a single metallic bracelet.  Halle wisely opted against a necklace which would have detracted from the beauty of the neckline.

When we think Elie Saab, we usually think red carpet, along with dazzling gowns with the ability to turn heads.   The designer did not disappoint for Spring 2011.  The dresses were picture perfect, that’s a good thing because they will spend a lot of time in front of the cameras.  A glorious print held the color combinations together.  The pastel color palette had powder blue, peach, blush, tan, chartreuse and white.  Those same colors were embodied in the print.  These dresses were youthful, no young starlet will be accused of playing dress-up while wearing one.  They came in various lengths, even better, some were sexy jumpsuits and short suits, just perfect for the Grammys or any other less formal awards show.  It was a collection of sparkling embellishment and flowing chiffon, some were fitted, while others merely skimmed the body; the unifying factor, they all channeled high glamour.

Sparkle, sequins and gold dominated Elie Saab’s Couture Fall 2010 collection.  The gowns floated down the runway in beautiful fall colors of red, gold, taupe, seafoam green and a print so lovely it brings to mind the frescoes in Italy.  We saw draping, beading and oragami pleating that was simply breathtaking on the breezy silk chiffon.  Saab opted for full on glamour and opulence with his fabric selection.  Only the construction and careful attention to details rivaled those choices.  The collection is reminiscent of the fashion from the television series in the 1980′s, Dynasty, but it’s the updated version for the 21st century.

Twilight Eclipse premiered last night, and the stars made an eye-opening fashion impact.  Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning took top honors in Gucci and Elie Saab respectively.  Rob wore a maroon colored Gucci suit that was fitted to perfection.  The color choice was risky, but this vampire totally made it work.

Then there was Kristen Stewart in a white one-shoulder Elie Saab dress.  It was a sexy look that sparkled with a daring cut-out in the back.  Her look was young and rocking, and a great choice for the evening.

Dakota Fanning also wore an Elie Saab dress.  Her dress was a nude one-shoulder look that was young and flirty.  It was also a little more modest than Kristen’s, and very befitting for her age. 

They each got it right at the premiere.  It appears young Hollywood is maturing before our eyes, at least in their fashion choices.  Oh, and if you were wondering, I’m Team Edward!
