Leighton Meester is the new face for Vera Wang’s perfume.  The actress will also star in the ad campaign which she shoots this weekend in New York.  Wang says she selected Leighton because of her “[b]eauty, talent and spirit will inspire all the young women that I hope will enjoy this passionate, new young fragrance.”  The Gossip Girl’s mystique goes a long way, she embodies the quintessenntial Upper East Sider.  Her campaign makes its department store debut next summer.

Leighton Meester is featured in the beauty section of the December 2010 issue of UK’s Marie Claire.  The shots gives us a glimpse of the Gossip Girl in a series of hair and makeup looks to showcase her versatility.  They are also great looks to try over the holiday if you want to make it extra special.  Her eyes are dark in the first black and white photo, and her lips are neutral.  The hair was pinned to emulate a bob, and the whispy pieces gives it a lived in look instead of making her too polished.  In the second photo her red lips pop out from the image, while the eyes remain neutral.  This look is far more glamorous than the other looks.  Even her hair is blown straight and frames her face.  The last picture would be very demure were it not not the dark eyes, heavy lips and tattoo on her shoulder.  She looks like a ballerina with the braided bun in the center of her head.  Each shot depicts Leighton in different, but equally complementary looks.

Nylon magazine made Gossip Girl’s Jessica Szohr their September 2010 cover girl.  The annual TV Issue shows her in eclectic and fashion forward styles, the cover look was inspired by Bianca Jagger in the 1970′s.  Szohr’s personal style is much more subdued, she states that she perfers jeans and T-shirts with an unexpected twist.  Fashion stylist Elle Werlin styled the shoot, and though the look may not have been Szohr’s own, she worked it.  We learned from the actress that she covets the wardrobe of Jenny most on the show.  She’s obviously not a fan of her character’s (Vanessa) hippie vibe, it makes perfect sense because Jenny’s look is closer to Jessica’s own personal style.

Interview made Blake Lively the cover of their September 2010 issue.  The actress makes her cover appearance in handcuffs ala fashion photographer Craig McDean.  Blake channels Old Hollywood, the beautiful starlets with a penchant for bad behavior; hence the jailhouse accommodations in this editorial.  Just look at the well-coiffed hair and bright red mouth below, she makes being bad look so good.  Lively has an aura of an old soul, and these dramatic looks suit her perfectly.  Rumor has it that the Gossip Girl wants out of the television drama to pursue a movie career.  She has a new film directed by Ben Affleck, The Town, due out this month.

Season 4 of Gossip Girl is just around the corner. The finale ended with quite a cliff-hanger, namely Chuck getting shot during a robbery. While we may not have all the answers to your burning questions, we do have a peek at the trailer. This season our favorite upper east siders are Americans in Paris. John Galliano has named, Gossip Girl’s, Taylor Momsen as the face of his perfume.  Just last week we learned she was the face of Madonna’s new clothing line, and now she’s fronting a high-end brand.  This has to be the best summer ever for the 16 year old.  Galliano must have been drawn to her edgy punk rock style which is characteristic of her lead status in a rock band.  Momsen recently revealed that she fired her stylist because she wanted to reflect her own sense of style.  I would not advocate such a move under normal circumstances, but it is apparently working out extremely well for the young actress.  Galliano’s new scent debuts in the fall, and so will the ad campaign featuring the Gossip Girl star.
