Sofia Vergara in Marchesa at Harry Winston Collection Launch

Sofia Veraga was gorgeous in a little white dress from Marchesa at the launch of Harry Winston’s new collection.  It was a strapless lace number with special folds and darts in the bodice and a scalloped hemline.  The peplum design and straight skirt played-up her curves.  Her look was romantic in many ways; color, silhouette and texture.  She accessorized with a tan pair of peep-toes heels and clutch.

Harry Winston Jewelry Campaign 2011

Harry Winston called on model Freja Beha Erichsen for its 2011 campaign. The ad is very girlish and sweet, her friendly smile and eyes make her very approachable. She looks like the girl next door. Gold and silver jewelry are displayed side-by-side. Each piece is understated, and prominently featured in the ad. Patrick Demarchelier captured the youthful exuberance in this image.

Tiffany & Co. Spring 2011 Ad Campaign

Photo Credit: Tiffany & Co./Peter Lindbergh

The new Tiffany & Co. campaign for Spring 2011 is centered around ‘the big day.’  One image is a portrait of the blushing bride with her groom and all the men from her bridal party.  We get a close-up of her and her left hand that sparkles with a diamond engagement ring and band.  This season is for weddings and little blue boxes with shiny and sparkly round objects.  What’s more traditional than  wedding photos and Tiffany jewelry?  Photographer Peter Lindbergh brought us these blissful images.

David Yurman Spring 2011 Ad Campaign

David Yurman’s Spring 2011 ad campaign stars Constance Jablonski.  She appears to be undressed, covered in only her jewelry.  It’s as if she got out of bed glamorous and picture perfect.  The black-and-white photography, shot by Peter Lindbergh, gives the image a more artistic quality.  I also like the cleanness of the ad, there are no distractions.  That puts the focus on the girl and the jewels.

Jennifer Lopez struck her superstar poses for TOUS’ Spring 2011 ad campaign.  The singer is the face for the jewelry company, and her ads are very vibrant and energetic.  They are brimming with colors like turquoise and fuchsia backgrounds.  Her wardrobe takes on similar hues and an added element of sheen from the satin material.  There is also an Asian-inspiration that is played-out in her hair styles and the props; note the hat, chopsticks, hand fan and parasol.  Jennifer is extremely animated in these ads and it works in showcasing the jewelry.

Fenton/Fallon Jewelry Line Launched at J.Crew

Dana Lorenz celebrated her new limited-edition jewelry collection last night with a launching party.  Lorenz collaborated with J.Crew to create the Fenton/Fallon jewelry line.  She designed beautiful pieces that will glam up even a simple white T-shirt and demin look.  The collection has an antique-like quality, but it’s been updated with a great mix of metals, from silver, gold and pewter to diamond like crystals.  Looking chic does not have to break the bank because they’re priced from $95 to $295.

Penelope Cruz sparkled in Chopard jewelry at the world premiere of Nine in London.  Her briolette cut and pear shaped diamond earrings lit up the stars smile.  That smile says it’s concealing a secret, the over 7 carats in diamonds she has on her ears.  You would smile as well.  The earrings also perfectly complemented her ice blue sequin gown.  Penelope shimmered brilliantly on her big night just as she intended.

Fashion Jewelry Treat

Jewelry designer Robert Lee Morris has been in the business for about 40 years. He’s worked with Donna Karan during the launch of her namesake line, and on her fall 2009 collection.  Rollcall selected Donna Karan’s fall 2009 collection as one of the best during fashion week partly for the fantastic accessories.  Mr. Morris has also worked with Calvin Klein during the eighties, and today he works closely with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen on their jewelry line.  He gets much of his inspiration from his older works, and the fashion editorial community still looks to him for his unique pieces.  If you are an accessories fan, you will be glad you viewed these pieces.  Enjoy the feast, minus the calories.

Chopard For The Win

If there is a better combination than white diamonds and Oscar gold, these winners are not interested.  Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz sparkled onto victory in brilliant cut Chopard diamond gems at the 81st Annual Academy Awards.

The diamonds were well-behaved Sunday night; they glistened, shined and dazzled the paparazzi and viewers.  Winning is sexy, and these beauties were even more radiant in the precious stones.

Diamonds are always about the cut, clarity, color and carat, but at the Academy Awards they are also about the Oscar.  Chopard wearers have apparently been on a winning streak for years.  I’m not superstitious, but I think I know who next year’s winners may be wearing.
