Lacoste brought us vibrant colors, dark denim and geometric shapes for Spring 2012.  This collection was relaxed, but had a stylish twist.  The handkerchief hemline made its return with a sporty edge.  Turquoise, orange and yellow played a supporting role amongst the deep blue.  A neutral makeup palette alongside straight hair revealed the models’ fresh faces.  These looks make dressing for the weekend.

Lacoste: Alexa Chung Is New Face for Fragrance

Alexa Chung is the new face of the Lacoste fragrance due out in January.  The sporty brand selected the former MTV Video Jockey to be their spokesperson because she is one of fashion’s ‘it girl’.  The former model is sought after for her personal style by brands like Mulberry, who named a bag after her, and Pepe Jeans where she utilized her designing skills.  It was only a matter of time before she added a fragrance to her list of fashionable accomplishments.  Alexa has the midas touch when it comes to defining what’s cool.

Jean Paul Gaultier Leaves Hermes – 2003-2010

Jean Paul Gaultier will leave Hermes after seven years at the fashion house.  The designer took the reins from Martin Margiela in 2003 to much acclaim.  Christophe Lemaire will be Gaultier’s replacement, and he is currently the artistic director of womenswear at the French label.  Lemaire will also leave his post at Lacoste, where he is creative director, in September after his Spring 2011 show.  Gaultier’s final collection at Hermes will be for Spring 2011.  The Fall 2011 season will usher-in the new creative director at the helm.  Hermes is not severing all ties, the company still retains a 45 percent stake in Jean Paul Gaultier’s namesake label.  JPG will continue as creative director at his own label for both ready-to-wear and couture.
