The new Louis Vuitton campaign for Fall 2011 brought the military to the luxury market.  Accessories took its rightful place in these ads, centerstage.  Caps and jackets took on the appearance of uniforms for the stylish.  I love the button and collar details on each piece.  These images convey a privileged lifestyle of drivers and the finer things in life, it is aspirational.

Louis Vuitton brought an opulent military look to the runway in Paris for Fall 2011.  The outerwear and accessories took the lead.  Coats and jackets took on the same stature as the iconic bags.  They had a military inspiration, evident in the silhouette and the button details.  Each garment was accessorized with military caps and boots to complete the look.  The boots came in mouth-watering colors like apple red and emerald green.  Leather, plaid, sequins and fur formed an extravagant collection.  Marc Jacobs continues to move this fashion house forward each season; this was all the luxury one would expect from Vuitton, and more

Allure magazine featured Leighton Meester on the January 2o11 cover.  She posed in black lacy lingerie while covered in a Louis Vuitton trench coat in her feature; her hair was towel dried, and her makeup as bold as her outfit.  The cover shot was far more demure, she wore a metallic silver and gold halter, and her hair was a wave of soft curls. Inside the actress talks love, Gossip Girl and her old partying ways.  You can catch Leighton on the big screen when Country Strong, with Gwyneth Paltrow, opens in theaters.

Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 Ad Campaign

Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2011 ad campaign is out and it’s classic, chic and serene.  The ad is selling a lifestyle, not merely the brand and it works. This is a destination many would love to frequent.  They wisely equated Vuitton with the exquisite elements occurring organically in nature.  It says status, luxury and that you have arrived.  The genius of the ad is that photographer Mark Segal was able to convey that message through scenery and the fabulous pieces from the resort collection.

Paris: Louis Vuitton Spring 2011

Images via NYMag

Marc Jacobs never fails to impress at Louis Vuitton and Spring 2011 was no different.  The collection was vivid and vibrant in colors and in energy.  Cobalt blue, orange, purple, hot pink and turquoise were just a few of the colors that stimulated our senses.  There were a couple of reference points in this collection that spoke to the international or global nature of this brand.  The Asian influence was introduced in the most beautifully structured tops, jackets, floral print skirts and dresses.  The interpretation was not overly literal, but just enough to appreciate the designs.  Jacobs not only spanned cultures, he also took us to the roaring 20′s with flapper-inspired dresses updated into sultry shapes some completed with a little translucency; this definitely upped the sexy.  Then we were given a bird’s eye view of the 70′s updated Vuitton style.  The era of disco and Donna Summer had never looked this good; it was sleeker, sexier and chicer this time around.
