Alexa Chung’s Fashion Takeover

Alexa Chung is in the process of a fashion takeover.  It appears that the cancelation of her MTV show has not slowed down the former model.  Mulberry has since honored her with a handbag named Alexa.  She has even inked a deal to collaborate with Madewell, a store owned by J. Crew.  Who knew she was also a designer?  It goes to show that great style is always marketable.  So we have named the designer and handbag icon to our Rollcall list.  We want to know what else she has in store for the rest of 2010, and we will be watching.

MTV Wants You To Get ‘Styl’D’

‘Styl’D’ is a new reality show on MTV where four junior assistant stylists are vying for a styling contract at MMA.  The candidates work along side three senior stylists at the agency. It sounds simple enough, but it would not be reality television without the drama.

The biggest drama in the first episode surrounded Brett, the assistant who co-opted a client from the senior stylist, Julie.  He took on the client after she had told him to turn down the job request.  Adding insult to injury, he went to a boutique to source clothing for his unapproved freelance gig using Julie’s name.  Um, that’s a major don’t.

Brett did all of this with the aid of Janna, his competition.  Can you say unwise?  She in turn exposed Brett’s scheme to Julie, even though she encouraged him to do the job.

Next you have Gary who is clearly talented and has an eye for style.  Gary, however, is a little too chatty and familiar with the client, Kim Kardashian.  All of this happens after he was warned by the senior stylist, Jen, to do the opposite.  See the train wreck for yourself in the video below.

You’re left in amazement at their inability to follow directions and to distinguish right from wrong.  So, you know what that means; I’ll be tuning-in next Sunday.
