Rachel McAdams wore a blue-and-turquoise Peter Som ensemble to the Los Angeles premiere of “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.” She opted for a floor-length print skirt with a thigh baring slit and a short sleeved tee. The high waist elongated her legs.

It was a good look to catch a movie on her night off. She accessorized with a blue clutch and pointy-toe heels.

Her hair was styled in soft, glossy curls and the make-up was classic in a pretty peach hue. I love seeing her on the red carpet and she does not disappoint.

Rachel McAdams was radiant in Collette Dinnigan at her photo call for “The Vow” in Munich. The actress wore a lace dress with sheer shoulders and a deep V-neckline. I loved the illusion of a strapless frock.

It had a ribbon band with a tiny bow at waistline and was very chic with its mid-thigh hemline. A scalloped hem only highlighted the feminine charm of this look. She accessorized with a pair of black high heeled pumps and diamond studs.

Her blond tresses were styled in lustrous curls. The makeup was classic with a bright pink lip color to accent the neutrals.

Rachel McAdams was gorgeous in an eye-catching Marchesa gown at the Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows premiere in Los Angeles. She wore an embroidered dress with a shimmering effect. It boasted long sleeves, a sweeping train and a plunging back. The actress was posed on the red carpet in this dramatic look and diamond studded earrings. Her hair was in a sophisticated updo with just the right amount of texture and the makeup was subtle with a coral lip color.

Rachel McAdams attended the premiere of Midnight in Paris last night in New York City.  She looked  glamorous in a Louis Vuitton gownwith a thigh revealing slit and a deep V-neckline.  It was a silk leopard jacquard dress with a  floor-sweeping train and three-quarter length sleeves.  This was a beautiful way to bring together the 1940′s with the present.  Her jewelry was kept to a pair of dangling earrings and a single bracelet.  Rachel wore her hair in curls and her lips were an eye-catching red.

Rachel McAdams covers Elle magazine’s June 2011 issue in Balmain.  The beige jacket came from the Spring 2011 collection.  It was embellished with gold studs in the collar, lapel and sleeves.  A white T-shirt, black leather pants and a wrist full of bangles completed her look.  Her hair was in large curls and her lip color was a bright red that pop.  I love her sheepish grin and that adorable pose.

Rachel McAdams attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Sleeping Beauty in Monique Lhuillier.  The actress opted for a bustier top and a pair of wide-legged pants.  Her fitted bodice was embellished with beautiful beadwork to give it dazzle for the evening.  She looked confident with her bold red lip color.  The hair was playful and complemented her outfit choice.  A gold clutch and bracelets completed her look.   This works because she appears to be having a great time.

Rachel McAdams wore Lanvin to the premiere of her new film, Morning Glory, in New York.  She brought her sexy to the red carpet, it was present from her fabulous tresses down to her curve flattering strapless dress.   The gun metal metallic color contrasted perfectly with her golden blond locks.  Rachel’s dress was from Lanvin’s Spring 2011 collection, the ruched detail provided great texture and visual interest.  She accessorized it with a pair of meshed high-heels with ankle straps and Fred Leighton diamonds.

Red Carpet:

1. Rachel McAdams looked so lovely and ethereal in her Elie Saab gown last night.  It was made from a beautiful floral print that made us nostalgic for spring; it reminded me of a watercolor painting.   Rachel got high marks for the fit, fabric, its charm and her ability to wear it with incredible ease.

2. Carey Mulligan’s Prada dress was the perfect choice for the budding starlet.  It was young and avant garde while maintaining a sweetness.  The beading and embellishments could have gone tragically wrong, but she pulled it off beautifully.

3. Penelope Cruz got it right with this Donna Karan gown.  The rich color was perfect for her hair color and complexion.  I loved the asymmetrical pleating at the top.  Cruz has become one to watch on the red carpet, and last night was no exception.

4. Cameron Diaz rightly wore Oscar de la Renta to the Oscars and she glowed.  With Cameron, it was the whole package, the dress, hair and that winning smile. 

5. Sarah Jessica Parker can hardly do any wrong on the red carpet.  She looked stunning in Chanel Couture last night.  The gown reminded me of Audrey Hepburn look in “My Fair Lady,” that alone would have landed her on this list.  She embodies a certain grace that complements whatever she wears.

6. Okay, there are actually six picks on my best dressed list.  Queen Latifah makes the list because she was gorgeous in Badgley Mischka, and I could not let that go unacknowledged.  The fit of the gown was perfect, I loved the one shoulder and that the embellishment came across her body at just the right angle.  She looked beautiful and her posture says that she felt beeautiful as well.  That is the job of the right dress on the right star at the Oscars.
