The magazine publishing industry has been plagued with lay-offs, and the fashion bible, Vogue,  is not immune.  It’s a sign of the times.  Conde Nast closed four titles last week, and gave pink-slips to at least six employees at Vogue today.  I wish I were talking lingerie.  The company is in the process of reducing expense related costs, and that may call for some workforce reduction, says the spokeswoman for Conde Nast in a statement.  It’s unclear what positions these employees held, or just how much their premature departure will help the bottom-line.  Hopefully this will be the last of the dismissals, and we’ll return to the good old days when the news from Vogue’s offices were about how Anna Wintour causes employees and designers to quake in their boots.  Um, and this blogger too.
