Rachel Weisz in Alexander McQueen at ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ Premiere in Madrid

Rachel Weisz was a total bombshell in Alexander McQueen at the Madrid premiere of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” The actress accompanied her husband, Daniel Craig.

She selected a fitted black dress with a scoop neckline, cap sleeves and a flirty mid-calf hem. It was a flattering silhouette that she belted as a final exclamation point.

A pair of Roger Vivier heels and clutch accessorized her head-turning look. I loved the monochramatic ensembled.

Her long dark hair was styled in cascading curls. The makeup was as dramatic as her outfit, with strong brows and crimson red lips.

Elizabeth Olsen in Alexander McQueen at NY Premiere

Image via People Style Watch

Elizabeth Olsen selected an Alexander McQueen design for the premiere of “Martha Marcy May Marlene” at the New York Film Society. It was a black halter dress with puffed details in the neckline and skirt. There was a bit of transparency in the hem of the skirt, and that was an unexpected surprise. Texture was the overall theme in the actress’ look for the event, it was evident in her attire and accessories. An ornate, metallic belt, and a gorgeous pair of peep-toe heels with gold threading fully complemented her ensemble. The clutch was leather with metal hardware. She opted for bold red lipstick because it would standd-out on a neutral face. Her hair was styled in a slightly messy bun, this was perfectly age appropriate.

Alexander McQueen – RTW Spring 2012

Images via NYMag

Alexander McQueen was a clinic in sculpted details and perfectly crafted shapes for Spring 2012. The show opened with fitted looks that took on an hourglass form, the silhouette was on display. Gold, blush, ivory and a black and white print helped to convey this larger than life romantic story. It was aided by ornate and textured textile, and luxurious print. This collection was lingerie-inspired, it was visible in the lace designs on the dresses. The plunging necklines were also a clue. These pieces were pretty and feminine, but in a way only Mcqueen could pull-off. The beautiful floral mini-dresses had texture, proportion and volume, they were wearable art. Leather and lace were paired together for contrast, the hard against soft. The sandals were an updated gladiator-styled. The collection had all the drama one would expect from this fashion house.

Anne Hathaway wore an ivory embroidered Alexander McQueen design to the London premiere of One Day.  It was a beautiful shift with a high neckline and mid-calf hemline.  This combination was as surprisingly sexy, as it was elegant.  She was feminine, but with a bit of an edge – that was evident in the unique neckline and angular sleeves.  Her clutch picked up on the texture and pattern in her dress.  A pair of peeped-toe pumps was visible underneath her slightly flared hem.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2011 Ad Campaign

Alexander McQueen has debuted its Fall 2011 campaign, and it contains the fury of Mother Nature against the beauty and structure of this collection. The ads have a built in conflict between the constructed pieces and total destruction in the environment. These images are intrinsically artistic, yet the pieces remained the primary focus. They were designed and shaped by Sarah Burton. Her eye for drama, and the theatrical gave us sculpted dresses worthy of the runway, and an art gallery. Silhouette, texture and volume play a central role in these beauties, and photographer David Sims captured all the details.

Anne Hathaway covers Harper’s Bazaar for the month of August 2011 in a glamorous Gucci gown.  It was a red dress with a cascade of gorgeous ruffles, and a plunging neckline.  Her editorial was equally fabulous, think of an outrageously opulent Alexander McQueen look with luxurious details and texture in the skirt.  She’s also pictured in a geometric patterned Prada coat, and a marvelously embroidered Miu Miu piece for the subscribers’ issue.  The delight on her face is evident, it’s like playing dress-up for the camera.
