Rosie Huntington Whiteley in Burberry at Label’s Beverly Hills Bash

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley opted for a sexy Burberry cocktail number for the brand’s Beverly Hills bash. Her champagne colored dress had a plunging neckline, and a cumberband-like waist. It was a body-hugging look with darted details in the skirt to provide a great fit. The model/actress accessorized with matching heels, and an understated necklace. Her hair was a darker hue that perfectly complemented her outfit.
A bright orange lip shade really popped against the neutrals in her attire.

Emma Roberts in Burberry at Scream 4 Premiere

Image via InStyle

Emma Roberts wore Burberry to the premiere of Scream 4 in Hollywood.  She wore a blue dress with vivid texture and an edgy pattern.  Her strappy Elie Saab platformed sandals perfectly complemented the designs on her mini.  This was not a safe choice, but she worked it beautifully.  The jewelry held its own with this outfit.  Emma wisely styled her hair in a simple ponytail and opted for pretty and neutral makeup.

Jourdan Dunn for Burberry Spring 2011 Ad

Images via The Cut

Model Jourdan Dunn is the face of Burberry for its Spring 2011 ad campaign, and she is stunning.  The ad has a natural vibe, from the facial expressions down to the location.  Leather fits right in with all the elements found in nature, like the rocks and the ocean pictured in these images.  It’s edgy and beautiful with just enough attitude.  And those pieces fit like a glove.

Zoe Saldana in Burberry at Children’s Defense Fund Awards

Zoe Saldana wore Burberry to the Children’s Defense Fund’s 10th Annual Beat the Odds Awards in Beverly Hills, the program honors high school students who overcome adversity with academic excellence.  The actress selected a black mini-dress that was sheer on top and had gorgeous satin layers throughout; that gave it a strapless effect.  It was a simple and classic shape with updated design elements.  She accessorized with a pair of black platform high-heeled pumps, minimum jewelry – hoop earrings and a ring.  Her hair was pinned up in back with two center-parted pieces falling in front.  Zoe’s look was elegant and very lady-like on the red carpet, and appropriate for the event.

Victoria Beckham Is British Fashion Awards’ Nominee

Images via Telegraph UK

Victoria Beckham has been nominated for Designer Brand of the Year by the British Fashion Awards.  This is an impressive achievement for the relatively new designer.  She began her designing career with dvb, her denim collection.  Then she worked her way to a high-end dress line called Victoria Beckham Collection.  Her dresses are feminine without the frills.   The shapes are the most compelling things about her dress collection.  They are very architectural, yet soft and approachable.  Beckham’s signature style is all over this line; it’s as if she designs each piece for herself.  Just take note of the images of her Russian Vogue editorial early last year.

The former Spice Girl is in excellent company for this nomination; Burberry, Mulberry and Pringle of Scotland are also in contention.  The winners will be announced on December 7th.  It appears to me that in this esteemed company, the nomination has already made Beckham a winner.

Designer Brand of the Year:

  • Burberry
  • Mulberry
  • Pringle of Scotland

Style Me: 4th of July – Red, White and Blue

The 4th of July is a celebration of our nation’s independence, but that does not mean we have to abandon our sense of style.  Here are three looks that varies in price and style personality.

We’ll start from left to right.  First we have the mid-priced outfit.  It is a striped silk-blend camisole from Armand Basi, and is paired with a white skirt with navy blue embellishments and double stripes by ModCloth.  Christian Louboutin white leather wedge sandals, and a red Diesel bag accessorize this look.

The second look is the lower-priced outfit, and it can be easily replicated.  You might already have similar pieces in your wardrobe.  It starts with a pair of Burberry oversized sunglasses, a Heritage 1981 strapless denim romper and a Wild Diva wedge sandal.  The romper is the must have piece this season, and denim is right on trend.

Finally we have the third outfit, and the pricier of the three looks.  Here we have an Emilio Pucci print top, and it’s accompanied by a pair of Milly sailor shorts and Miss L- Fire sailor wedge heels with stripe print designs.   It has a detachable nautical corsage that is removable.  The print in the blouse is perfectly contrasted with the stripes in the heel of the shoes.  Stripes are also big this summer.

Hopefully you will get inspired by these style ideas.  Happy 4th of July Weekend!!!

Burberry Debuts Beauty Line

Burberry has a new 96-piece beauty collection ready to debut in July.  Though legendary for its trench coats, this is the fashion house’s first foray into makeup.  Chief creative officer Christopher Bailey compares the new line to Burberry’s trench coats.   If that’s the case, we should expect timeless and enduring beauty from this collection.  Models Rosie Huntington, Lily Donaldson and Nina Porter look absolutely stunning in the makeup.  If only we could all look as good in Burberry’s beauty line?  You can pick up your best shade of lipstick or foundation at Nordstrom or Burberry.com.
