Selena Gomez in Christian Cota.  A very spring-like look, a pair of white shorts and a sleeveless print top with white overlay.  She accessorized with a turqouise pair of T-Strapped high-heeled sandals.

Heidi Klum in Gucci.  She wore a minidress with embellished in the sleeves and neckline.  Her black peeped-toe booties with cut-outs were gorgeous and just right for the dress.

Miley Cyrus in Dolce & Gabbana.  She opted for a figure hugging gown in a beautiful floral print. 

Rosario Dawson in Fendi.  Her one-shoulder minidress was flirty and fun with pretty ruffles throughout.  She wore a pair of nude pointy-toed pumps with her eggplant colored dress.

Scarlett Johannson kept it short and sexy on the cover of Vogue China for April 2011.  Her ultra short minidress is from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2011 collection.  The color is the only thing that is modest about it; it has a lace overlay and is embellished with studs throughout.  Her makeup is styled in a short bob and her makeup is neutral and pretty.  I loved that they used a nude lip color and made her nails red hot to keep up with the dress.  Photographer Peter Lindbergh shot the alluring cover.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen covers Emmanuelle Alt’s first Vogue Paris issue.  She is dressed in a white Dolce & Gabbana dress from the Spring 2011 collection.  There are some angelic and provocative qualities about this shot.  First, the natural lighting and the color white gives off a virginal vibe.  Then there is the transluceny of the dress showing Gisele’s undergarments and both her pose and facial expression are sensual.  The duality was captured perfectly by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the April 2011 cover.

Dolce & Gabbana brought out the sequins and stars in their collection for Fall 2011.  The silhouettes ranged from the form-fitted to the loosely draped.  This duo gave us glorious colors that glistened from the luster of the sequined embellishments.  It was youthful and alluring, with no hint of the provocative.  Even the hemlines fell below the  knee, with few exceptions.

Lily Donaldson is on the cover of the January 2011 subscriber issue of Harper’s Bazaar.  The model is wearing a bold leopard print dress with inlays of peek-a-boo black lace from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2011 collection.  Lily poses with a baby leopard whose fur fully complements her dress.  Photographer Terry Richardson captured the cover shot which is very glamorous; from its animal instincts theme, down to her curly gold locks and painted red lips.  The January 2011 newsstand issue features actress Julianna Margulies on the cover, Donaldson only appears on subscribers issue received in the mail.

Here’s a preview of Dolce & Gabbana ’s new Spring 2011 ad campaign.   This one featured models Alessandra Ambrosio and Izabel Goulart.  The black and white image is rather sultry; Izabel stares head on into the camera, while Alessandra is posed in a position that could be described as sensual.  The ads were shot by fashion photographer Steven Klein; this was merely a first look, the rest should be revealed soon.

Taylor Swift is like a ray of sunshine in this beautiful Dolce & Gabbana dress.  It’s a great look on the singer, it’s age appropriate for her young fans and very pretty.  This dress is quite demure for a label known for its provocative designs.  I’m thrilled she wore it with red Mary-Jane high heels.  Pairing the red with yellow made this outfit young and current, a darker shoe would have weighed down the dress.  Even better, her lipstick matches her shoes and brightens her face.  She also wore her signature wavy hair down about her shoulders.  This was one of my favorite Taylor Swift red carpet moments, she got everything right.

The Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) and QVC came together once again to bring you the 17^th Annual QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale,” an annual gala and charitable shoe sale to benefit breast cancer research.  Entertainer Fergie is the face of this year’s “Call to Action Campaign.”  The event took place last night, October 13th at Lincoln Center and the stars came out to show their support.  Angie Harmon, Ivanka Trump, Johnny Weir, designer Kenneth Cole, Doris Roberts, Joan London, Linda Dano and the Beverly Hills Housewives were in attendance and they walked the red carpet.  My biggest journalistic question of the evening came when I asked both Ivanka and Camille, “who are you wearing?”  It was an evening made of style and shoe shopping for a worthy cause.  The main event takes place on QVC on Friday, October 15 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm during the charitable shoe sale.   Over 100,ooo pairs of shoes will be sold at half their retail price.  Fergie’s Hope shoe will also be sold.  All the proceeds from these sales will go to charity.

Dolce & Gabbana was a story told in black and white.  Lace and sheer fabrics permeated the Spring 2011 collection.  Corsets dominated, and it was all about legs, legs and more legs.  In-between all of the skin, there were incredibly beautiful and delicate pieces; they were feminine and even a little soft.  When you have light flowy and sheer fabrics mixed in with translucent lace you have the makings of romance, and this collection had plenty of that.  In the absence of color, the textile played a vital role – it was rich in texture and in depth.  The peek-a-boo nature of the white pieces was both saintly and provocative.  Dolce & Gabbana show us that seeing a woman in her undergarment can be the most vulnerable and simultaneously, the most powerful moment.
