Drew Barrymore in Jil Sander at Covergirl Event

Drew Barrymore scored major points in this strapless Jil Sander dress at the Covergirl 50th Anniversary event.  We are often starved for vibrant color in the winter months, so a pop of color can be nourishing to our style sensibilities.  This tangerine beauty has a loose fit and perfect proportions.  It’s clean and modern, and the mermaid hemline sealed the deal.  Her hair kept with the theme of the dress, straight and sleek.  Drew kept it simple with her accessories as well, a black evening bag and a cocktail ring.  The bright lip and nail colors finished-off her flawless look.

Drew Barrymore Wore Malandrino to L.A. Premiere

Image via InStyle

The red carpet premiere of Drew Barrymore’s Going the Distance in Los Angeles was a glamorous affair.  The actress scored major points in her strapless Malandrino gown; her shimmering brocade dress boasted a demure frontal slit.  It was paired with a Balmain belt with gold side panels that highlighted the golden sheen in the dress.   A pair of YSL platform shoes in a complementary color completed the trifecta; all three came together to make one stunning look.  The dress had the starring role, it flattered Barrymore’s figure, hair and skintone.  A dress works when the woman looks confident and comfortable in it, and this one accomplished both tasks.

Actress Drew Barrymore appeared at the London premiere of Going the Distance in a short McQ dress by Alexander McQueen.  She wore a sage green mini-dress that was belted to show-off her figure.  It boasted a flattering hem with a slight draping.  The earth tone went beautifully with her blonde highlighted tresses and nude suede platforms.  Her neutral color palette was accented with a bright red pout.  Barrymore got it right last night, this is how you do effortless chic.

Drew Barrymore in Nylon Magazine’s August Issue

Images via Nylon

Drew Barrymore is featured in the August denim issue of Nylon magazine.  The actress talks about a period in Hollywood when no one would hire her, and how it taught her humility.  She also tells her interviewer about her new movie, Going the Distance, where there’s apparently simulated phone sex, but I digress.  Barrymore is a ray of sunshine in her pictorial, this is the girl we’ve grown to love.  Though she has experienced her share of hardships, we all love a great comeback.  You know that you are officially back when you are the recipient of a Cover Girl beauty contract.

Drew Barrymore: Elle’s August 2010 Cover

Drew Barrymore is the cover girl for Elle magazine’s August issue.  The actress is sexy in a strapless lace dress.  In her interview, she talks about being single, “[I]f you’re 35 and single and it’s a choice, it feels fine.  So I didn’t settle with the wrong person yet.  Big deal!”  We know her personal life is always under a microscope, and it great to hear that she does not feel pressure to settle down.

Her outlook on the aging process is also very refreshing, “I don’t want to be vain or fearful, and I don’t think I’ll do anything [in terms of plastic surgery], but if I want to do something, I will.  From my perspective, there’s no reason to be afraid of aging, because if you age, you’re lucky!  The alternative is death.”  Drew has an open and  fearless attitude towards life, and this is what her fans finds so appealing.

Red Carpet at 2010 Golden Globes:

Kate Hudson gets our best dressed vote because of the shape and structure of her gown.  The actress was one of four clients styled by Rachel Zoe at the Globes, and she had us talking about the gown, not her personal life.  Her gown stood out because it was a visual delight, the eyes wanted to feast on each origami fold.

Drew Barrymore’s Versace Atelier gown was beautifully draped and beaded.  The nude color was also on trend.  Many questioned the embellishments attached to the shoulder and hip, but I say that Drew has the personality to pull it off.  All I can see here is glitz and glamour, and that’s just what the Golden Globes ordered.

Emily Blunt’s Dolce & Gabanna gown was elegant and sweet on the red carpet.  The bustier top, fitted skirt and a slight mermaid bottom provided the actress with a beautiful silhouette.  The gown followed both the ruffled and color trend of the evening.  She was accompanined by her fiance John Krasinski in Prada.

January Jones was loe’ly in Lanvin.  The back cut-out and perfectly sculpted ruffles make this gown a stand-out instead of relegating it as ‘just another black dress’.  It was deceptively simple with intricate detailing.

Chloe Sevigny made the list because she selected this Valentino gown that many women would not have attempted on the red carpet.  It’s a beautiful gown that challenges the narrow standards of beauty.  The gown needed a woman who had a strong sense of self, and it found that in Chloe.
