Zoe Saldana attended the Beat the Odds Awards in a chic Giambattista Valli design in Beverly Hills. The event is a held by the Children’s Defense Fund. She wore a striped pencil skirt with a cream top with exaggerated sleeves. Her skirt was in a black-and-white print with a gray waistband and red horizontal elements. The actress accessorized with a pair of peep-toe heels to match her blouse. She styled her hair in an elegant updo and her makeup was in a neutral palette with a bright red lip color to accentuate her look.

Jessica Biel wore a dramatic Giambattista Valli gown to the Fashion Group International Night of Stars event in New York City. Her dress had elaborate shoulders in a cape-like design, and a keyhole neckline. The chiffon skirt fell to the floor with extreme flare. She accessorized with a gold leaf belt, diamond earrings, and bracelet. Her makeup was claassic in a neutral palette, and her hair was styled in a center-parted up-do.

Lucy Lui wore a Giambattista Valli design to the launch of her book at the Tory Burch store in New York City. She opted for a black-and-white floral print dress with exaggerated shoulders. It was cut away from the body, and had a beautiful fit. Her mini-dress got an unexpected pop of color with her turquoise clutch. A pair of tights, platform heels, and diamond studded earrings accessorized her ensemble for the event. She completed her look with a sleek bun, and sheer peachy-pink makeup.

Giambattista Valli revealed a runway of pretty and polished dresses for Spring 2012. They were beautifully proportioned and embellished with sparkling crystals. Those mid-thigh hemlines indicated youthful sophistication. A gorgeous gown with a sheer skirt was a standout because of the eye-catching floral pattern. The color palette was a seasonal white, yellow and pink. A dark tribal print was exotic against the lighter pastels. This collection was rich with texture and dazzle, it held a ton of visual interest for the eye.

Zoe Saldana wore Giambattista Valli to the Los Angeles premiere of Machine Gun Preacher last night.  The actress selected a floral mini-dress with lavender and hot pink designs throughout.  A black waist band and sheer inset at the neckline served as anchor to this feminine confection.  She accessorized with suede peep-toe pumps, and a small crystal evening bag.  I’m a big fan of a neutral face, especially once paired with vivid colors in a look.

Rachel Weisz wore a beautiful Giambattista Valli design to the Toronto International Film Festival.  Her animal print dress was a fashionable choice because it was sleek, had clean lines and was met with a bold fabric.  The results were magic.  This look acted as a neutral once accessorized with a black belt, and a pair of pumps.  The actress wore her hair in soft, bouncy curls, and red lips to accent the tan and brown colors in her look.

Jennifer Hudson was stunning in a red Giambattista Valli mini-dress at Self magazine’s “2011 Women Doing Good Awards” in New York City.  Her dress had three-quarter length sleeves, and draping in the fitted skirt.  She accessorized with a pair of ankle strapped platform heels, and sparkling earrings and bracelets.  Bold crimson lips were used to complement this head-turning look.  The singer/singer was recognized for the work of her charity, the Julian D. King Gift Foundation that provides toys to needy children.

Sarah Jessica Parker went for full-on drama at the I Don’t Know How She Does It press event in Moscow.  She wore a crimson gown designed by Giambattista Valli, and matching cape.  The dress had a fitted bodice, and a slightly fuller skirt that fell into a pool of silk onto the floor.  This look was bold because of the color, and its flare.  It worked because she was unapologetic for its grandeur.  I love that she is still willing to take fashion risks that cause us to anticipate her red carpet appearances.
