Vanity Fair March 2012: Hollywood Issue – Rooney Mara, Jessica Chastain…

Some of the hottest new stars have been feautured on the cover of “Vanity Fair’s” Hollywood Issue for March 2012. They appear impeccably dressed and perfectly coiffed.

On the front are Rooney Mara, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska. Each are acknowledged for what they have done so far and the promise of what is to come.

Within the folds are other noteworthy newcomers like Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling. Remember their names because we will be seeing many of them in more films and fashion magazines.

I like the luminous treatment given to the images, lighting is indeed everything. Photographer Mario Testino captured these talented ladies for this issue.

Taylor Swift Covers ‘Vogue’ Mag’s February 2012 Issue

Taylor Swift covers”Vogue” magazine for February 2012 and she has a gorgeous new style. She appears in knits and florals and even rocks edgier looks, like a white motorcycle jacket. The shoot was captured by photograper Mario Testino.

We first got a glimpse of the singer’s style evolution a couple of months ago. It started with her new hair cut and great bangs. Now we see her new fashion style and it works. It’s youthful and natural with just a dash of rebel for flavor.

Michelle Williams Covers ‘Vogue’ Germany February 2012

Michelle Williams covers “Vogue” Germany’s February 2012 issue as Marilyn Monroe. The actress expertly captured the icon’s vulnerability in this image.

She channeled the movie star in her film, “My Week with Marilyn” with platinum hair, red lips and a beauty mark. The same was recreated for this shoot. Even the white robe looks glamorous in this shot. There is little doubt she was meant to play this role.

Chloe Sevigny for ‘Moda’ Magazine

Chloe Sevigny took over the December 30th issue of S. Moda in bright colors that were urging spring to get here soon. The newly brunette actress brought an added dimension to her photo shoot with a sultry makeover.

I like her with the dark hair color, it was quite exotic on her. It also contrasted beautifully with her skin and went well with the vivid hues of her wardrobe.

The location of the shoot worked because it was not too gritty, yet far from pristine. A backdrop does a good job when it allows the clothes to take center-stage, while it plays a supporting role.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ UK January 2012

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley had a sizzling photoshoot for British “Harper’s Bazaar’s” January 2012 issue. The model posed in various swimwear designs, a clear indication that summer is near. She was poolside in one and two piece looks with glamorous hair and bold red lips. A few of the shots by photographer Tom Munro had that pin-up girl effect, but far more high fashion. Gold accessories were the recurring element to pull the editorial images together.

Lady Gaga Covers ‘Elle’ UK for January 2012 in Simone Rocha

Lady Gaga posed in a Simone Rocha design, an up-and-coming British designer, for “Elle” UK’s January 2012 issue. The entertainer wore a sheer mint green mini-dress and matching headwrap. It’s from the Spring 2012 collection. Inside is a full length image of the frock sans any lining, thankfully Gaga wasn’t too shy. She accessorized the frilly number with a translucent belt at the waist. It was a good selection because green is the perfect color for spring, and the dress was so fresh and light.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ December 2011

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley took over the December 2011 issue of Harper’s Bazaar in rocking looks for Spring 2012. The model/actress posed in Donna Karan New York, Giorgio Armani and Burberry Prorsum and as well as others. Her editorial had a tribal and striped theme that ranged from cocktail to casual. It’s safe to say pastels will not rule the season. The makeup is dramatic and the beachy hair works with this shoot shot by Greg Kadel.

Ashley Greene for Flare Mag December 2011

Ashley Greene was all Hollywood glamour when she posed for “Flare” magazine’s December 2011 issue. We got to see the glammed-up actress in high-end designs from Gucci and Marchesa – think gorgeous ruffle-like detail, and intricate beadwork. Her makeup was equally stunning, nothing beats a strong brow to frame the face. The shoot was conducted poolside by photographer Max Abadian in Beverly Hills.
