Naeem Khan 2011 Collection – RTW

Beadwork, feathers and prints took center stage at Naeem Khan’s Fall 2011 show.  A bevy of beautiful gowns and cocktail dresses went down that runway.  Some of the dresses were fully embellished and they dazzled brilliantly as diamond jewelry.  The fingerprints of his Indian-American culture was present in the richness of the fabrics and stunning beadwork.  A one-shoulder print dress with expert draping was the standout in the show.  This collection was opulent and luxurious, it was everything we would expect Naeem Khan to deliver.

Angie Harmon Wore Feathered Naeem Khan On the Red Carpet

Image via InStyle

Angie Harmon looked like an angel in this feathered Naeem Khan on the red carpet last night.  The actress selected the dress for Conde Naste Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards in New York City.  It was a cross between an angel and a ballerina, especially with the pulled back hair.  This was an elegant white cocktail number with tons of personality and a beautiful print motif.   It was perfection on the statuesque beauty.

The Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) and QVC came together once again to bring you the 17th Annual QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale,” an annual gala and charitable shoe sale to benefit breast cancer research.  Entertainer Fergie is the face of this year’s “Call to Action Campaign.”  The event took place last night, October 13th at Lincoln Center and the stars came out to show their support.  Angie Harmon, Ivanka Trump, Johnny Weir, designer Kenneth Cole, Doris Roberts, Joan London, Linda Dano and the Beverly Hills Housewives were in attendance and they walked the red carpet.  My biggest journalistic question of the evening came when I asked both Ivanka and Camille, “who are you wearing?”  It was an evening made of style and shoe shopping for a worthy cause.  The main event takes place on QVC on Friday, October 15 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm during the charitable shoe sale.   Over 100,ooo pairs of shoes will be sold at half their retail price.  Fergie’s Hope shoe will also be sold.  All the proceeds from these sales will go to charity.

MBFW: New York – Naeem Khan Spring 2011

Naeem Khan’s Spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection was a showcase of bold colors, fantastic prints and his signature embellishments.  The olive caftan dress embodies effortless beauty without sacrificing glamour.

Navy and white are elevated to a higher-level with a full skirt in a playful print and a white top that dazzles from shiny beading.

Model Sessilee Lopez in a sheer red gown with strategically placed jewel-embellishments.  Her dress had a peek-a-boo effect without revealing too much.

This gown was all about the fabric, the black print and beading on chartreuse provided a beautiful contrast.

Here we have Khan’s version of simple elegance in a button-down taupe top and a gorgeous floor-length beaded skirt in white.

This gown was stunning not merely because it was beautifully made, but because the tie-dyed print was a work of art.

Sex and the City 2 Premiere: Red Carpet Fashion

Sarah Jessica Parker wore Valentino to the Sex and the City 2 premiere at Radio City Music Hall in New York City last night.  It was a one-shoulder canary yellow gown to complement her flowing golden locks.

Kristin Davis was pretty in pink in her Jean Desses gown for Decades.  It was a beautiful column dress with wonderful ruching.  Kristin wore a loose chignon that was regal and it complemented her dress perfectly.

Cynthia Nixon was glamorous in Carolina Herrera.  The fitted strapless gown looked great on the actress, and it was one of her best red carpet moments.  Her shoulder-length strawberry blonde curls was also a good choice for the evening.  A pair of earrings and an evening bag were her sole accessories.

Kim Cattrall sparkled in Naeem Khan.  Her slinky gold gown was bejeweled with sequined stars throughout.  Kim smartly opted for minimal jewelry and a beautiful evening bag.

Naeem Khan’s HSN Collection Sold Itself

Naeem Khan unveiled his HSN collection, Timeless, to the audience on October 29th and it was a sprint to the finish-line.  No one anticipated that the finish-line would be reached within 10 minutes.  So Naeem Khan makes our Rollcall list this week.

The Timeless collection sold out so quickly that the show ended early; every designer wishes to have that problem.  The audience had an insatiable appetite for his 10 piece collection.  Five minutes into the show, four of the 10 pieces in the collection were sold out.  Seven pieces were sold out 10 minutes into the show.  “We were expecting the reaction to be positive, but it was above and beyond,” said Khan. “The show had to be cut short because we sold out!  This really speaks to the potential and the power of HSN.”

The designer is being incredibly gracious because we know that it also speaks to the quality and desirability of the items he created.  The dresses and tops are mostly sequined, and they’re perfect for the upcoming holiday season.  Timing was key to this collection’s popularity, sequins would likely be a tougher sell to the HSN audience in June.  If you missed the collection on HSN, take a look at the video.
