MBFW: New York – Nathan Jenden Spring 2011

Nathan Jenden took his inspiration from the Wiz for Spring 2011.  Dorothy in the 21st Century is all about beautifully made dresses, unruly curly hair and dramatic make-up.

We are clearly not in Kansas anymore…  This loose fitting striped top looks gorgeous on the model sans pants.

Nathan Jenden has a way with blazers and jackets; they’re very tailored, yet relaxed.  Loved them!

Here is a leather jacket with a newer shape for Spring 2011.  It looks luxurious when paired with a pretty dress.

This season is all about color for this designer, from the skirts and dresses down to their red platform pumps.

What would Oz be without sequins and feathers?  This was one of the most formal looks in the show, and also one of the prettiest.

Look at this beautifully tailored two-buttoned jacket in turquoise; it could take you from work to dinner in the evening.

LFW: Nathan Jenden Fall 2010 Runway

nathanjendenfall2010a

Nathan Jenden’s Fall 2010 collection was a mix of black-and-white zebra stripes, neutral gray, vivid colors and bold prints.  He sent 24 looks down the runway, each filled with drama and personality.  The former creative director of Diane von Furstenberg only used models of color on the catwalk.  Asian inspired hats were showcased throughout the show.  It was a playful collection that will hold a lot of appeal with the youthful and eclectic young woman with a flair for the dramatic.
