Argentine Designers showcased six designers for Spring 2011. Each approached the season from different points of view:
1. La Dolfina designed by Pablo Ramirez: Some were very literal, like the equestrian-inspired looks that first hit the runway by La Dolfina designed by Pablo Ramirez. It consisted of polo shirts, tailored leather blazers and white button-up shirts; each look was finished-off with the mandatory scarf for polish.

2. Laura Valenzuela: Designer Laura Valenzuela followed with a light and heavenly collection of beautiful ivory dresses in the sheerest fabrics. The appliques gave it an almost fairy-tale quality, but without the extreme whimsy. It was a pretty and demurely sexy collection.

3. Evangelina Bomparola: Evangelina Bomparola gave us very wearable pieces just short of black-tie. Satin and sheer fabrics were just two of the materials used in this black, white and blush pink collection. The color palette lended to its formality.

4. Marcelo Senra: We now have Marcel Senra whose looks were more ethnic and tribal. The collection had beautiful patterns and textures in a warm color palette. This designer took a little more risk than the others, and showed us variety and depth in his collection.

5. Maria Pryor: Thoughts of the Elizabethan-era came to mind as I viewed this collection. It may have been the exaggerated sleeves; their traditional hair accessories also reminicent of another time. The dresses were pretty, and the overall styling made this collection one of the stand-outs.

6. Pablo Ramirez’ namesake line: Pablo Ramirez showcased a gorgeous collection of high-waisted pants and skirts with beautifully-tailored jackets. He did it with dramatic flair; large black hats were placed over the white scarves covering the models’ hair and necks. Large black gloves completed the package. The styling was theatrical and each piece was well-made.
