The Fashion Footwear Association of New York (FFANY) and QVC came together once again to bring you the 17th Annual QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale,” an annual gala and charitable shoe sale to benefit breast cancer research.  Entertainer Fergie is the face of this year’s “Call to Action Campaign.”  The event took place last night, October 13th at Lincoln Center and the stars came out to show their support.  Angie Harmon, Ivanka Trump, Johnny Weir, designer Kenneth Cole, Doris Roberts, Joan London, Linda Dano and the Beverly Hills Housewives were in attendance and they walked the red carpet.  My biggest journalistic question of the evening came when I asked both Ivanka and Camille, “who are you wearing?”  It was an evening made of style and shoe shopping for a worthy cause.  The main event takes place on QVC on Friday, October 15 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm during the charitable shoe sale.   Over 100,ooo pairs of shoes will be sold at half their retail price.  Fergie’s Hope shoe will also be sold.  All the proceeds from these sales will go to charity.

RollCall: Club Monaco Launches at Shopbop

Club Monaco launches at Shopbop today, and they held a preview of the Fall collection last night.  The party was held at the Flagship store in New York City.  This collaboration had been the buzz about town for the last week, and it did not disappoint.  It was a story of military looks and camel colored pieces mixed in with sparkles and embellishment.  This made for the hard and soft aesthetic we all incorporate in our own wardrobes.  The collection is easy to wear, but with tons of style and personality.  If you love accessories you’ll love the butter soft leather gloves and the pearl necklaces to bring charm and whimsy to your style.  Shopbop’s fashion director, Kate Ciepluch, curated the Fall/Holiday 2010 collection we were coveting last night.  Just take a look at the selection above, and now it’s all at your fingertips.

RollCall: Swatch’s Private Launch Party for ‘New Gents Collection’

Singer Chris Brown

Swatch’s New Gents Collection

Rapper Fabolous

More of Swatch’s New Gents Collection

Watch maker Swatch really knows how to launch a new collection.  Last night I attended the private launch for their ‘New Gents Collection’ in New York City.  The event was hosted by Twilight’s Nikki Reed.  Unfortunately, I did not get a shot of Nikki, but I did catch singer Chris Brown and rapper Fabolous on the red carpet.  The event was rocking from the start, it was a full house and guests were treated well once inside.  DJ Mia Moretti was a wiz in the DJ booth and she kept the party going for hours.  It was a successful evening and a great start to Swatch’s new watch collection.

**I was gifted a Swatch watch at this event.

RollCall: Russell Simmons Launches Argyleculture at Macy’s

Russell Simmons was at Macy’s Herald Square last night to launch his Argyleculture Men’s Shop.  Guests were invited for cocktails to celebrate the grand-opening.  The entrepreneur was on hand to meet-and-greet, take photos with guests and to inspect the goods.  He not only designs Argyleculture, he also wears it; Simmons wore a navy blue V-neck sweater from the collection.   The vibe was nice and he had a good rapport with the room as he stopped to talk with many at the reception.

RollCall: DKNY & the National MS Society Event

DKNY & the National MS Society hosted a special event last night at the Madison Avenue store.  Author Marlo Donato Parmelee was celebrating her memoir, Awkward  Bitch, My Life with MS.  At the age of 32, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).  Parmelee read an excerpt from her book, and it was both poignant and humorous.  She sparkled in a blue sequined DKNY top that radiated against her outlook and humor.  A book signing ensued.  Customers were treated to champagne, delicious cupcakes and a 10% discount off their  purchases.  In addition, DKNY donated 10% of the evening’s proceeds to the New York City – Southern NY chapter of the National MS Society.  Nothing goes better with cupcakes, than shopping for a good cause.

RollCall: “I Remain, You Desire” Reception at Sotheby’s

Photo Credit: Andrew Rothchild – Stylist, Mary Alice Stephenson (left) Photographer, Gabrielle Revere (right)

I attended the reception for Gabrielle Revere’s photography exhibition of model Lindsey Wixson at Sotheby’s on Tuesday, September 21st.  The 16 year old is very poised before the camera.  Revere began the assignment with Time magazine, but it took on a life of its own, and the “I Remain, You Desire” project came to life.  Super stylist Mary Alice Stephenson and Milk Studios’, Mazdack Rassi hosted the event.

Here we have model Lindsey Wixson in one of the portraits in the series called Apparition; it’s as if the image will disappear right before our very eyes.

This portrait is called Chrysalis… aptly named because her breath has caused something to be in its development stage.

RollCall: New York Fashion Week: Fashion Celebrity Spotting

Celebrity Stylist/Designer Rachel Zoe of Rachel Zoe Project

Fashion Week is where the fashion elite congregate to showcase their new collections.  It is also the place to spot the fashion celebrities who come into our homes on a weekly basis via television.  I spotted Rachel Zoe of the Rachel Zoe Project outside after Donna Karan New York’s Spring 2011 show.  Now I nearly died when I saw her; I had to get a picture.  Only moments prior, I had spotted Rachel’s Style Director, Brad Goreski leaving Donna Karan’s show venue.  Then later in the evening I went to Nigel Barker’s book launch, Nigel Barker’s Beauty Equation: Revealing a Better and More Beautiful You, in Barnes & Nobles across from Lincoln Center.  Today was the day for my fashion celebrity spotting; I exchanged greetings outside of the tents with Lloyd Boston, and earlier, I almost bumped into Robert Verdi as he was trying to get to, most likely, Carolina Herrera’s show.

RollCall: FNO NYC Fall 2010: Bergdorf’s and I Heart Ronson Events

Handbag Tinsley Mortimer next to Celebrity Stylist Robert Verdi

Fashion Designer Monique Lhuillier on the far left

Fashion’s Night Out 2010 was even more fun filled and exciting than last year.  The crowds were bigger, the lines were longer and the patrons were happier.  Bergdorf Goodman was my first stop and I was met by a line that was three rows deep.  I decided to stick around because I was already sold on the canine runway.  On the judging panel was fashion designer Monique Lhuillier and handbag designer Tinsley Mortimer.  Celebrity stylist Robert Verdi hosted the event.

Fashion Designer Charlotte Ronson at her I Heart Ronson event

Gossip Girl’s Michelle Tractenberg and Charlotte Ronson

I did not get to see the entire canine runway unfold because I had to make press check-in at the I Heart Ronson event downtown.  The designer made her appearance with Gossip Girl’s Michelle Tractenberg.  The music was rocking upon entering the event, and I noticed that Ronson’s sister, Samantha, was the D.J.  It was a lovely cupcake and tea social, and a sweet way to end a long day at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
