Kate Beckinsale in Tadashi Shoji at Independent Spirit Awards

Kate Beckinsale kept it short and sweet in a blush hued Tadashi Shoji design at the Independent Spirit Awards. The actress wore a lace mini-dress with a scalloped hemline and short sleeves. It was lingerie inspired, ultra pretty and feminine. She accessorized with matching high heel pumps. Her hair was center-parted and styled in large waves and the makeup was in a neutral color palette to complement her look.

Tadashi Shoji – RTW Spring 2012

Tadashi Shoji gave us flowing gowns and knee-length cocktail dresses for Spring 2012. It was all about texture with this collection, and this was evident in the floral embroidery, chantilly lace and painted fabric. The designer also gave us silks and chiffon in subtle tones like ivory and sand. A neutral color palette often appears more elegant and graceful. This runway had romance and charm from beginning to end, and it was achieved through design and good textile selection.

Tadashi Shoji Fall 2011 Collection – RTW

Images via Elle.com

Tadashi Shoji gave a mixture of cocktail dresses and long gowns for Fall 2011.  The former are our obsession here because of our red carpet love affair.  Mustard and teal acted as accent colors in this collection of black, white, gray and navy.  Flowy chiffon and delicate pleats were the main attraction on this runway; some adorned with appliques throughout.  The hair was sleek and the makeup neutral with nude lips and strong brows.

MBFW: New York – Tadashi Shoji Spring 2011

Tadashi Shoji had beautiful dresses on display for Spring 2011.  These gowns would be right at home on the red carpet.

The muted colors emphasized the glamour of the collection.

An understated print brought texture to a neutral color palette.

Okay, I loved this dress.  I’m partial to anything in a shade of lavender or lilac.  All of those gorgeous ruffled details are merely the icing on a very delicious dress.

The celebrities came out to support designer Tadashi Shoji.  The collection is both beautiful and wearable.  being ‘wearable’ in this economy is not a dirty word.  The consumer wants one of two things, totally new and innovative pieces or wearable pieces that they can implement into their existing wardrobes.  At the end of the day, it’s about creating quality pieces that excite your loyal customers.  Tadashi did just that with this collection.  Feathers will clearly be a big part of our lives next spring, and that fills me with a little excitement.

Actress Bree Turner walked the red carpet in this Tadashi Shoji cocktail dress to the premiere of her movie The Ugly Truth.  The dress is so chic; it is a white ¾ sleeve mini dress with mirrored beading.  It is from Tadashi’s spring 2009 collection; the beauty of this dress is that it manages to be subtle, but sexy.  When I think of a modern look for a cocktail dress this is what comes to mind.
