Kristen Stewart looks gorgeous on the cover of the September issue of W Magazine for 2011. She was styled like a burnett Bridgette Bardot, and these images were among the more alluring of the actress. The hair, makeup and wardrobe all came together and created a bombshell. There was a softness to her facial expression, and in her overall presence in the shoot.
Julia Roberts covers the June 2011 issue of W magazine with Tom Hanks in Dolce & Gabbana. Her black lace dress has beautiful pattern and texture. The stars of the soon to be released “Larry Crowne” are in a playful embrace as she looks directly into the camera. Her editorial is pretty sexy as she dons strapless and one-shouldered looks. I love her neutral makeup throughout, it says she is confident.
January Jones covers the May 2011 issue of W magazine in a Lisa Marie Fernandez swimsuit. For the subscription cover, she dons a Giorgio Armani dress and jacket. Photographer Craig McDean captured the “Mad Men” actress for this issue. Her all black editorial is rather sexy, and made possible by stylist Lori Goldstein. The former model turned actor knows her angles, and the camera loves her. Inside she talks about her role in the upcoming “X-Men” movie and her television character, Betty Drapper.
Change is inevitable, and there have been many changes at W magazine since Stefano Tonchi became the new editor-in-chief. That’s good news for the publication because it will bring renewed interest. The most notable are the new logo and the accompanying tag line “who, what, when, where and why in the world of style.” Any questions? I think not because they’ve told you exactly what they’re about. The publication is transitioning from fashion into a lifestyle magazine. Tonchi used the celebrated September issue to institute these changes. Kat Dennings and Jessica Chastain made the cover of W‘s September 2010 issue, a nod to young Hollywood.
Eva Mendes is pin-up girl sexy on her July 2010 W magazine cover. Her red lips and corset style halter dress brought the heat to the cover. Photographers Mert & Marcus captured the tantalizing image that takes us back to a Caribbean island. A wave of vivid color overtakes your senses and transports you to location. A bit of fall 2010 was sprinkled into the shoot, Eva’s blue and white plaid dress is from Prada’s fall collection. The actress talks motherhood, career and those super hot Calvin Klein ads to W. July has yet another reason onto be hot.
Demi Moore proves that she is stunning with or without the help of photoshop. Controversy about extensive retouching surrounded her W magazine cover last year. Now un-retouched photos of the actress has surfaced and triggered further talk of photoshopping. Her perfume ad is in question this time. There appears to be an uproar over retouching lately. Some might say it’s a little hypocritical because people tend to scrutinize the models in ads quite severely, and complain if they appear, um, human. Flaws like wrinkles, moles, and freckles are often criticized. On the other hand, brands tend to strive for perfection in their ad campaigns. That quest for perfection leads young women to hold themselves to impossible beauty standards that can be detrimental. It doesn’t matter which side of the debate you fall, most women would purchase perfume from Demi in the un-retouched photo just as they would in the photoshopped ad. Watch the behind the scenes shoot for the ad.
